Mass Relay represents the musical creations of producer/multi-instrumentalist Matthew Richter. A deep love for many styles of bass music has led Mass Relay’s creative pursuits into downtempo, dubstep, neuro bass, glitch hop, future funk, and other genres.

Beginning his musical journey at age 9, Matt has been fortunate to have been involved in a myriad of musical endeavors, from playing in metal bands to formal classical and jazz training, eventually leading to his receiving a Masters Degree from the University of Denver in classical guitar performance.

While finishing his Masters Recital and thesis, Mass Relay won the Untz Challenge, granting him performances at nine major music festivals including Electric Forest, Summer Camp, Sonic Bloom, Dancefestopia, and others. An exhausting but inspiring summer sealed Matt’s dedication to the electronic music scene which he loved so much, leading to many other music festival and national performances.

Mass Relay has had the pleasure of performing with some of the nation’s most cutting-edge electronic musicians such as Clozee, Haywyre, Mr. Bill, Phutureprimitive, Ott, Govinda, Psymbionic, and Freddy Todd to name a few. His comprehension of many musical aesthetics combined with his virtuosity makes for an entertaining and unique live show.
